How to find out if you have retinal detachment
A woman has died after contracting retinal detachments during a routine eye examination, a coronavirus coronaviral surveillance team said Tuesday.
A team of coronaviruses experts from India and China had been searching for the woman, identified as 26-year-old Rajita, since Friday after receiving a report that she was in critical condition in a hospital, according to the National Centre for Communicable Diseases (NCDC) and state-run Xinhua news agency.
The woman was treated at a medical facility in the northeastern city of Yangzhou on Saturday.
A preliminary investigation showed the woman had contracted the virus in a public toilet in her home in the city of Gansu, which is located in Jiangsu province.
The team conducted further tests and found that the woman was also infected with the coronaviri virus, according a statement from the NCDC.
The woman was hospitalized with the virus on Sunday.
Rajita was reportedly admitted to the hospital in Yangzhou, and died on Tuesday.
