Carolinas’ Cancer Center Opens With A New Model
Posted February 05, 2018 08:20:01 A new model for cancer care will soon be added to a cancer center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The new model, the Loma Linda Ophthalmology Clinic, will be located in the city’s South Carolina Hospital and Medical Center.
The Loma Linda Ophthalmic Clinic will be equipped with new laser, X-ray, ultrasound, PET, CT, PET-scanning and CAT scans and a new surgical suite that can accommodate larger surgeries.
“We’ve been focused on the surgery suite, which will provide much more advanced imaging for the surgery team, the cancer team, and the general patients that come to our facility,” said Dr. Robert Smith, president and CEO of the Lomlinda Ophthomas Cancer Center.
“This new model of care is a major step forward in the development of a new type of surgery and will allow for patients to get their surgery in a more timely manner.
We hope that this model of surgery will allow us to deliver better care to our patients in a cost effective manner.”
The Lom Loma Ophthalmologists Cancer Center will be open during normal business hours, but the Lomas new model will only be available during special events.
Patients can visit the LOMLoma Ophthyomas Cancer Treatment Center on Saturday, February 6 for an in-person consultation with a LomaLinda Ocular Surgeon.
“The Loma Lisa Lisa Ophthalmoscope and Loma Lisas Cancer Therapy Suite are unique to our new model.
We are proud to have them in our facility, and we look forward to welcoming all of our patients for the first time,” said Smith.
The cancer center opened its doors in December 2017.
Lomas current surgery suite has the ability to perform all of the standard procedures for cataract surgery, as well as laser procedures, CT scans, PET scans, and ultrasound.
Dr. Stephen D. Kullman, LomaLisaLisa’s head of research and innovation, said the LVMO is a “world-class medical facility” that provides “the best in cancer care.”
The new Loma Lori Lisa Ocular Surgery Suite will allow patients to “feel as if they have the most complete, most precise vision of any surgical facility on the planet.”
“We believe that this new LomLoma LisaLisa’s model of medicine is a powerful combination of technology and precision, and it will help improve care for patients by providing a better, more cost-effective treatment option for our patients,” said Kull-man.
The center currently operates in four locations: Lomas, Charlotte, Raleigh and Durham.
The first LomaLens, Lomas newest model, will open in 2019.
